Following presentations in Geneva, Lucerne, Miami, and Minneapolis, the Museum of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro is currently exhibiting Daniel Buren's "Voile/Toile – Toile/Voile (Sail/Canvas – Canvas/Sail)".
On 22 January 2026, eleven sailboats featuring Buren's white and colored vertical striped sail-canvases, departed from Marina da Glória and sailed to Flamengo Beach. The sails are now being exhibited in MAM Rio, mounted on freestanding structures and arranged in the space according to each boat's finishing order — a protocol that Buren has followed since the earliest editions of this project, which he began in 1975.
